av-comparatives.org said The #1 AV in the world for "on demand scanning" is Trusport which I cannot find anywhere and this AV uses multiple engine to scan, hence best detection rate and worst scanning time The #2 is Avira Premium 2008 (I use it now… a bit slower than Kaspersky Internet Security but recognize more viruses than KIS as well) #3 is G-DATA AVK 2008 (use it for like 3 days, and stopped coz it download about 1MB updates every few minutes… it is annoying… and the scan time could be A LOT better coz this AV also use 2 scan engine -Kaspersky 6 + G-DATA own + The installer for this product reach 200MB??!! where other AV only uses maximum 30 something MB… Wow…) #4 is Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0.1.325 (use this for quite some time until I read that it has many bugs and can't recognize viruses that come from my country… -version 8 fixes this, using it in my laptop and it recognize Indonesian made viruses! Thank God for that!- #5 is NOD32… using the version 2.7 before moving to KIS 7 (version 3 is just too confusing for me or maybe I'm just picky but well it is my opinion nonetheless) #6 is AVG 8 which is REALLY hard to crack… and have tried their Free Version which is NOT recommended at all because it gives too many false positive and it mistakenly delete my ACDSee Pro 2 & my Java Update installer o_0! #7 and the rest… well why should you bother? because you can use the number 2 to 6 which is significantly better than the rest like Norton or McAfee… Sorry I am just bitter with those 2 products.. McAfee screw my old Laptop with accidental deletion of something in my Windows folder that made me re-format my laptop… even worse Norton really slows my old PC down and every time I want to uninstall it via "Add/Remove Program" my old XP PC crashed with BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) wow… THX A LOT Symantec… I promise myself that I will NEVER touch those 2 products in my life ever again ) Note: I used to use BitDefender 9 & CA Antivirus… both have failed miserably with ordinary Indonesian made viruses that KAV 6 and NOD32 2.7 can detect… so bye-bye both…
